Webtop 6.8 is now available, check the download site. Note: As of this writing, there are two Documentum Webtop links on the download site. I found Webtop 6.8 in the lower of the two links, it is not with Webtop 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7 versions. UPDATE: This has been corrected. Webtop 6.8 is now found under the ‘Documentum Webtop’ link, all previous supported versions are found under the ‘Document Webtop Version 6.7 & Below’ link.
Webtop 6.8 is the long awaited version ( here too ) which contains changes to email management and security, adds support for Microsoft Office 64-bit and new browsers, and extends the effective life of Webtop to 2021. However, there are some compatibility issues with retention policy services (RPS) and records manager (RM), according to the release notes. These will be addressed with patches to RM, RPS, and PRS in January 2015.
With the changed email management features in Webtop 6.8, products in the Records Suite family (Records Manager (RM), Retention Policy Services (RPS), and Physical Records Services (PRS)) are not interoperable with Webtop 6.8. For updated information, refer to the knowledge base article, 195164 .
RETENTION POLICY SERVICES cms (RPS) CUSTOMERS: Customers running any version cms of Retention Policy Services (RPS) should not upgrade to Webtop 6.8 as there are known interoperability issues between Webtop 6.8 and RPS. These known issues are targeted to be fixed in the January 2015 Patch release of RPS 6.7 SP3.
RPS customers currently running 6.7 SP3 must wait until the availability of the January 2015 RPS 6.7 SP3 Patch. Upon patch availability customers cms may deploy that patch update and then upgrade from their existing versions of Webtop to Webtop 6.8.
PHYSICAL RECORDS SERVICES (PRS) CUSTOMERS: Customers running Physical Records Services (PRS) along with Retention Policy Services (RPS), must wait for the January 2015 RPS 6.7 SP3 Patch to be available to ensure interoperability. cms
About Scott I have been implementing Documentum solutions since 1997. In 2005, I published a book about developing Documentum solutions for the Documentum Desktop Client (ISBN 0595339689). In 2010, I began this blog as a record of interesting and (hopefully) helpful bits of information related to Documentum, and as a creative outlet.

The goal of this blog is to collect and disseminate information about using and implementing cms Documentum (or other things I find interesting). The intent is to provide short, useful, and easy to understand bits of information that I have discovered, researched, been given, or otherwise found useful in my day-to-day cms activities as a software developer and Documentum solution practitioner.
