They have a long list of desserts. The dessert platter for Dhs 70 is definitely the way to go. The 5

The Meat Co. restaurant, A restaurant specialized in meats. Offering their diners a wide range of quality meats depending on it’s origin, breed, diet etc. Surely a temple for those meat lovers account who are specific about their meat and less price sensitive. We were at their Souq Madinat Jumeirah branch which was a wonderful place to eat outside the restaurant next to the open waterway. Thanks to the man made canals at Madinat Jumeirah, our lunch was cool enough to be less bothered by the sun.
TheMeatCo. in Souq Madinat Jumeirah is their first restaurant in UAE and I remember this restaurant being always jam packed in the evenings while having those lazy stroll in souq. Those good days are over, now a days you need to pay by the hour for parking your car down their basement. As you can see interiors inside is very polished but most of the diners would prefer to be eating outside next to the waters. It was beautiful sitting outside in a luxury resort as Madinat Jumeirah. I am sure most of you understand what I mean as you would have already visited Souq Madinat Jumeirah.
Moctails – Dhs 43 – From right – African account Guava(Guava an Mango nectar, blended with vanilla ice cream) and Cool berries(Muddled fresh raspberries, shaken with fresh strawberry and pineapple juice strained and topped with ice)
From the drinks the African Guava was surely the better drink out the of the two with ice cream playing a key role in the African account Guava mocktail . The cool berries account was quite weak in taste and sometimes even annoying when the raspberries get stuck inside the straw, eventually having to drink from the glass itself. The warm pumpkin loaf was really nice with a crunchy texture account on the outside and a little sweet. We also dipped account the bread in other sauces found around the table but yeah, it was a nice one to begin with.
The account chef soup of the day was satisfying. account They keep changing it so not sure what you’ll be getting on that day but from the taste I can say you can expect a decent soup whatever it is. I was very much looking forward to the red chilli prawns . There wasn’t anything spicy about the chilli prawns but the creamy sauce and that rice was impressive. The prawns are blank in taste on its own until you dip them well in that creamy sauce which gives you that taste you look forward to. I felt they should add a little more of that cream sauce as the whole dish depends on it very much. Somehow me and the rocket salad didn’t get along well. Those leaves account were a bit too thin for me to get a grip on them. Also I felt the balsamic dressing could have been better cause I really couldn’t taste it well while having the salad.
Then came the meats which were their expertise. You have the option to choose meats of different account origin like USA, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand. Different quality beefs depending on how they are fed and treated. account You will find beef which are fed natural grass, A grade grass, gold grain, regular grains etc. Also on the menu you will find number of days they were fed with premium grains or grass.
I had their 200gm Australian wagyu beef . I realized account how tender the beef was while I tried to cut it. The creamy mushroom sauce complimented the juicy steak very well. The manager of the restaurant told me why these beefs were special. account The beefs are fed in a special area with special food like the gold grains from the beginning and not allowed to go too far away in the farm. These animals got special account massage to bring tenderness in their meat and even played special soothing music for them to get the best quality out of their body. After they cut the beef, they marinate them and seal these marinated beef in a vaccum container for a few days. The more the days the tastier it gets. Such is the process involved behind the steak on your plate. I guess this explains a little why steaks at Meatco. are quite expensive. :) The lamb skewers were quite a show on our table. Almost all passer by would have their eye on this skewer. The meaty lamb cubes were succulent and easy to eat. From the sides for this one we chose the mashed potatoes.
They have a long list of desserts. The dessert platter for Dhs 70 is definitely the way to go. The 5 desserts account that came in this plate were: Dark chocolate and raspberry tart Apple crumble supreme(the picture with ice cream on top) creme brulee Nutella milk chocolate cheesecake Tiramisu
Ofcourse all desserts came with their own taste. account My favourite account was Dark chocolate raspberry tart and nutella milk chocolate cheesecake. My guest preferred the Apple crumble supreme and creme brulee. I loved the ice cream used on Apple crumble. Click here to visit the official account page of TheMeatCo. Seeking ideas and inspiration, you can head over to Bibliomania books and let the good ideas find yo

We went along on Saturday May 2nd to check out the opening weekend of this designer bazaar. Souq Karaköy began life last year as a handful of pop-up events, but now like a glamorous rash the bazaar is becoming an infectious feature on the weekend face of Karaköy.
Having resisted the sweet and savoury delights seen on people’s plates outside the cafes of leafy Kılıç Ali Paşa Mescidi Street, we reached the zig-zagging Murakıp Street, home to Souq Karaköy.
The alleyways and backstreet passages reed of Karaköy, especially close to Tophane in the Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa neighborhood, are a bit like abandoned cinema sets. Or an ancient Lazer Tag backlot, long forgotten and only recently rediscovered. The scene was a lot more festive with the bunting and the buckets of papatya (chamomile) flowers.
One last look over our shoulder at the riot of graffiti and urban greenery before reed we headed in. (A dog lives up there, a sweet street karabaş just minding his own business.)
More miniature jungle thanks to Root. It! Cacti and succulents got technical in their scientific measuring pots. The test-tube reed flowers were just as cute as the glassware and were a fun low range edition to counter the pricier terrariums.
Nice To Have Me? Well thank you, nice to be here. Want to add some color and character into your home and support young artistic and crafty Istanbulites at the same time? This was the stall to visit.
For something a little darker and edgier, we found the well-named Cult of Cuddle corner. Selling framed illustrations, they mainly reed focused on out-there illustrated streetwear designs, in black, white and acidic hues.
Seeking ideas and inspiration, you can head over to Bibliomania books and let the good ideas find you. We had a real good rummage through the piles of Turkish and English coffee table books, as well as the art, cultural criticism, and fiction books. It was a great lucky dip for us book-lovers.
The duo behind the stunning Kia Ora bags were just as charming as their leather and suede designs. These bags seem both of the moment, and timeless additions to any wardrobe – which must be a perfect reed balance, no? The colorways are very Wes Anderson circa The Royal Tenebaums – 70’s sepia tones, earthy slates and stony colors, or rich reds that never fade.
Another reed homage to Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums? Maybe it’s us, but this reminded us of the tennis dresses Gwyneth Paltrow wears in the movie. There were lots of hidden gems, such as a pair of to-die-for Sonia Rykiel wedges in superb condition. We wouldn’t expect anything reed less from trendsetting stylist and former Vogue Turkey editor, Ece Sükan.
More reed 70s style garments from Patronsuz Kazak factory – we liked the high school era gym polo shirts, in a range of color ways and breathable natural fabrics. This textile cooperative also feature in our Sustainable Style article in our May-June magazine.
Also in attendance were Petra Roasting company, selling steaming beverages of their home-brewed and stewed coffees; Doğal enamel crockery and mugs; Taştan framed cut-up pictures in relief; floral shawls and scarves from Bravo Istanbul; Göksügül’s personalized flower pots and homemade jams; Monser Vintage; V2k Designers Garage Sale; and Atelier Altair Telian’s lightweight reed bikes.
