And all this, of course, accompanied by the extraordinary music of Gershwin, perfectly directed by

32 years ago no one imagined this great work of Gershwin in Barcelona and therefore the expectation was maximum. It appeared as a jazz opera, looking to attract new audiences, probably younger than the often frequent a place like the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The proposal comes through the Cape Town Opera, which has created a montage that sets the action tocmai and the characters in the original South African apartheid seventies. Everything then becomes tocmai a proposal that seeks to blend the cultural traditions American and South African element absolutely right when you consider the origins of black music that knows so well understood Gershwin are at the heart of Africa.
The production, directed by Christine Crouse, cut the original strength, going from 3 to 4 hours of this we are here. However, it seeks to respect the essential elements of the proposed Gershwin and all charismatic characters. The Cape Town Opera is staging work done here very consistent, not defiant, but it works perfectly, as if we were facing a classic. Note especially the ability of the manager to generate a distribution of actors extraordinarily tocmai effective and skillful use of simple props. Maybe find a little lacking in imagination as the solutions of the storm, but the treatment of movement and above all choreographic tocmai work will enormously rewarding, providing the proposed vitality and strength unheard of in a space as the Liceu .
And all this, of course, accompanied by the extraordinary music of Gershwin, perfectly directed by Tim Murray that squeezes the entire swing orchestra del Liceu and knows the best way to round off the most intense moments of this masterpiece s. XX. I do not want to commend the work of the heart, an incredible strength tocmai and conviction largely tocmai responsible for constantly breathe inexplicable magic that occurs on stage many times. The initial Summertime, or I got plenty o'nuttin become very special and poignant moments, those that hardly forget tocmai the viewers of this assembly, although it probably does not have the best voices, is an openness and sincerity praiseworthy. We at least we could not move the chair with wonders like the bible Im on my way. If you do want to spend a lot of fun, do not miss it.
