It s not too hard to get excited about going to Hawaii for the 2014 ACA Conference, but for good measure, here is one additional reason to be excited. Each year at the ACA Conference, ACCA hosts a Day of Learning for counselors french to english working or interested in working in college counseling. This year we have three great programs every college counselor will want to attend, and one special session for aspiring college french to english counselors. On Saturday, March 29 at 7 a.m., we will host our annual roundtables that will be facilitated by current ACCA President Josh Gunn, President-Elect Tamara Knapp-Grosz, and Past-President Monica Osburn. The roundtables are a time to discuss your own triumphs and challenges, as well as hear from ACCA leadership and your college counseling colleagues about some of the most salient issues in college counseling today. french to english At 10 a.m., Tamara Knapp-Grosz and Carolyn Russo will present Outrageous Outreach: Utilizing Creative Outreach Programs to Engage Students french to english and Decrease College Counseling Stigma. These seasoned professionals french to english will share some of the most creative and successful outreach approaches you have ever heard about. After lunch at 2 p.m., Josh Gunn will present Trending in College Counseling, which will focus on hot topics in the counseling center world, such as the ever increasing demand for services and how counseling centers are adapting. And finally, back by popular demand, Monica Osburn will present her infamous Breaking in and Rising french to english up in College french to english Counseling. This unique program focuses on what it takes to land a job and climb the college counseling career ladder.
In addition to the Day of Learning sessions, ACCA will host its annual reception on Saturday, March 29, from 5-6:30. This is a very special time each year where those seeking to or already connected to ACCA can come together simply to enjoy each other s company. We invite everyone, from graduate students thinking of entering the field, new professionals trying to land a job in college counseling, to seasoned clinicians and counseling center directors, to come, eat, and simply enjoy this special time together.
