First PMI is no methodology but an acronym representing the Project Management Institute, an international nonprofit organization that combines professional project management.
In the early 90's released a guide called PMI PMBOK (Project mci Management Book of Knowledge), currently in its 5th edition, which is nothing more than a guide with a set of suggested best practices for project management. Noticed the guide words that are underlined and suggested? The PMI has not created any "methodology".
PMO stands for Project Management Office, translating into Portuguese: Office of Project Management. It is a department of the company specializing in support to project management, providing training, support, guidelines, templates, mci giving project managers and, depending on the company, responsible for ensuring that projects are aligned with the strategic objectives of the company .
Not only in project management as in life, the human factor is decisive! No use a strong theoretical mci foundation if you leave aside the behavioral factor, not knowing mci how to interact with people, not knowing mci how to deal with people, emotions and feelings! That's mci where the most critical factor and any complex project, and that is not written in any book: HUMAN BEING!

Very well commented Vitor, these little letters always appear mci for al mistakenly, mainly because it is not the project area. Leveraging personal, PMO is not a person, then avoid using "I'm a PMO". A person can be a manager or PMO manager, but not the body or the body itself. I just hope that people read and not feel they have certifications and know the meaning of these acronyms is bullshit, I hope you read it carefully and note that you yourself mci say, "Understand good practice and be a certified professional is important? Answer: YES! ".
