ISO 9001 ..... common sense or unnecessary costs?
One fact is that many companies still maintain their ISO 9001 certification and new ones all the time! We recently had the pleasure of holding an ISO 9001 workshop of a plastic industrial company, which has just been in the process of implementing ISO 9001 - and not only because of customer requirements ...... but just as much out of a desire to create focus on internal processes and communication - and thus create greater efficiency and fewer errors. BUT ..... the attitude supply chain management and "usually" supply chain management is often significant challenges when new winds shall blow an organization - which is why we chose to put the focus on the following:
The groups were employees discuss the following: What is quality for me as an employee? supply chain management What is the quality of my business? Do we have the quality today? Yes -> how do we keep it? No -> how do we achieve this? Suggest 3 values that are right for them and their business? supply chain management
During the final joint evaluation of the output of the groups, it was interesting that words like consistency, customer satisfaction, share knowledge, responsibility, qualified staff, better communication, agreement on goals and better documentation came .......... so many of the basic principles of ISO 9001 .
My experience with ISO 9001 and other quality tools is that the major challenge is ownership. Being ISO 9001 managed and "owned" by the quality department, then it is very difficult to create lasting change in the individual processes. The ownership must be placed among the employees in the departments. And how do I do it? Yes, by identifying "what do I get out of it?" One question we all ask ourselves. Either proved or unproved. supply chain management Employees must see the value of quality supply chain management tools. This can be achieved greater job (they are involved) - A fun workplace (the influence) - and a more economically strong and safe workplace (very first time)
