How to Download WebTop Downloading WebTop is the first step to unveiling the power of your System Center environment. Please follow the following steps to get your free trial download: Open the download url in your internet browser. If you not already registered with the WebTop site, please click the register link and fill out the form to receive access. Complete apb the registration form. If you know the name of your Web Server please enter it now and you will also receive a trial License as part of the registration process. Once you complete the form you will be redirected to the login page and also shortly receive and email with your password to login. After you login you will be able to download the product from our downloads page. You will receive a License Key in a separate email from our support staff.
How to Obtain a License Key If you did not request a License Key as part of the registration apb and download process you can still do so after the fact. Please follow the steps below to receive a License Key separately or get a new key for an expired trial. Navigate apb to our support page and fill out the support form with the relevant details and be sure to include the Server Name for the WebTop server. You only need to include the NetBIOS name, FQDN is NOT required. You will receive an email from our support staff within the next 24 hours but typically within the same business day with your new trial key.
How to Install WebTop Once you have download and received your license key you should process with installation of your WebTop Server installation. We always recommend to use the product documentation and check the requirements page to ensure compatibility. The first step is to build a Virtual Machine or allocate a shared Windows Server running Windows 2012 R2 with IIS installed and configured per the documentation. apb Additional please see supporting blogs on how to configure apb the Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012 R2 and IIS prior to installation if needed. Place the WebTop installation media and license file on the server into a temporary location. Launch FyrSoft SC WebTop.msi and click next to begin the setup wizard. Select the I accept the terms in the License Agreement checkbox and click next. Next specify the default location for the WebTop installation.The default location of C:\Program apb Files(x86)\FyrSoft\SCWebTop\Dashboards\ is recommended. Once you have entered a path click Next to continue. Click Install to initiate the install of the FyrSoft WebTop. Click Finish once the install is complete to exit the setup wizard. Complete
How to Configure WebTop The WebTop product may be configured for your environment after installation. The common post-installation steps include: Navigate apb to the web server URL and Click on Manage and navigate to the Configuration page to configure the WebTop server. Navigate to the web server URL and Click on Manage and then navigate to the Data Source page to configure the Data Sources. For each Connection String click edit and change the Data Source=FYR-SQL01 to the correct server name. Click the Test button and then Update if the connection is successful. To use System Center Product Powershell Tasks you will need to specify the each Product s server in their specified apb location in the Configuration tab. Navigate to the Manage -> Configuration page to configure the WebTop server. The global configuration variables that are available are as follows. SCCMSiteServer : the SCCM Management Server Name. SCVMMServer : the SCVMM Management Server Name. SCOMManagementServer : the SCOM Management Server Name. SCORCHManagementServer : the SCOM Management Server Name. Edit each of the desired configuration items in the configuration tab, each server will need to grant the WebTop server remote management privileges by issuing the follows commands: Do this by running this command on each server in an administrative powershell session Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value FYRWEBTOP Force This will grant the WebTop apb Server apb the ability apb to start a remote apb session to run powershell script. All other non-product specific tasks will run as the user specified in the application pool identity as such, the account will need permissions to run such tasks on remote machines. These Tasks can be viewed by in the Dashboard Management screen. Navigate to the web server URL and Click on Manage and navigate to the Configuration page to configure the WebTop server. Add\Update License File – – apb To add or update the License File you need to navigate to Manage -> License -> Upload License File. Replace Default Logo – To replace the FyrSoft logo in the top right corner click select apb under the Application Logo section and load up a logo that is exactly 225 x 51 and in PNG format. Do this twice for each color format. Change Theme Color – To change the Theme color of WebTop click the Theme drop down and select the theme color
