However, with 70% of the population traslate are Buddhists, the lifestyle is peaceful and simplistic.
From in expat life, I said I could not fault the lifestyle As above, there are certain things missing, traslate things is slower, it takes four good -.. 6 hours from Colombo to Galle and similarly in any specific place on the 200km I can not say that the roads especially in good condition, but in 10 days I visited, I did not see any accident. hardships may include the lack of being able to get from one part of the island to another quickly, the lack of fast internet connection, maybe the human waste / refuse, which allows traslate influx of flies, the dirt left lying around and finally the lack of funds to rebuild the country to what it was before the Tsunami.
Having That said, I have to look at the good things that you find there, the beauty of natural resources, how the nationals and expats seeking to rebuild the country, the beaches, game parks and mountains. This is truly beautiful part of living world.
